ABOUT

Cucina di Gerardo is an Authentic Italian Restaurant and Pizzeria, serving upscale flavors with a relaxed atmosphere.  They ensure the best quality ingredients, all made from scratch and to order.  The portions are generous and deliciousness is the number one priority, where nothing is ever fried or microwaved.   There is a fixed Pizza and Calzone Menu, sandwiches, salads, soups, and a rotating Weekly Features Menu, offering authentic Italian fare.  Yet, if there is something you desire and is not featured, they will happily make it if they have the ingredients available.  They will soon be opening a full service dining room, but are currently only doing take out and counter service, at this time.  They're preparing to offer a small selection of Italian wine and beer, as well as, offering a wide variety of Italian coffee drinks.  Baked goods will also be made available in the future, including traditional Italian desserts and homemade bread.

Cucina di Gerardo, in Island Pond, is the latest opened Italian restaurant, owned and operated by Gerardo and Devorahe Grieco.  They have been owner and operators of authentic Italian restaurants in the Northeast Kingdom Vermont since 1995.  The original Cucina di Gerardo was originally opened in St. Johnsbury, Vt, and has migrated to various locations over the years, and has now resurfaced in Island Pond.

Gerardo immigrated to The Northend of Boston from a small town outside Naples, Italy, in the 70's, and has worked in restaurants and pizzerias, until moving to Northern Vermont and opening a restaurant of his own.  He adapted his own recipes from long Italian family heritage and personal experience.  He is a self-proclaimed "Pizza Man,"  and loves his food and sharing it with others.  The Grieco's live by the true Italian mottoes of "Food is Love" and "Everyone is Family," and express that through their authentic flavors and good-nature.

Island Pond is near and dear to the Grieco's, as it is the very first town they relocated to in Vermont, in 1990.  Gerardo and Devorahe moved their family to this small community, of Island Pond, to get out of the big city of Boston, where Gerardo commuted to work, in a prominent Italian restaurant outside Fenway, until 1994.  He began to run and operate restaurants in the area, until he gained enough capital to start his own business in Lyndonville.  Gerardo and Devorahe have owned restaurants ever since, with their two daughters to help.  Their sister restaurant Cantina di Gerardo,  currently located in St Johnsbury, is now run by their youngest daughter, Giuliana Grieco, and her partner.

Cucina di Gerardo welcomes you to come in and enjoy the food and true authentic flare.  They are excited to be in this new location, and hope you will soon come to join them.
